Key issues for Homelessness Australia in 2008 are outlined below:

Establising Homelessness Australia's Strategy

Homelessness Australia has is calling for a holistic response to homelessness, with a strategy focusing on early intervention and prevention, crisis responses to homlessness and developing pathways out of homelessness. It is hoped that both government and opposition will work with Homelessness Australia to achieve the best outcomes for homeless Australians.

To ensure the successful implementation of Homelessness Australia's Strategic Plan, a Communications Strategy will be developed for 2008. The Communications Strategy will incorporate a number of areas including undertaking research into Homelessness Australia's communications effectiveness to date, achieving better relations with the media, and committing to awareness raising and education strategies about homelessness. Communication Strategies will be developed, implemented and evaluated every year. The evaluations will form the basis for the next strategy.

Homelessness Australia continues to inform the media about homelessness and issues affecting our sector through regular press releases. These are available in the Media section of this website.
